The district found they needed to move their existing bus fleet to the existing administrative office campus and create a new bus barn and maintenance facility for their crew. This new 10,605 S.F. metal building includes 2 bus repair bays, an exterior wash bay, interior steel storage mezzanine, drivers lounge & training center, 2 offices, work stations and associated restrooms. The site presented some challenges with a large retaining wall at the rear of the building. Working alongside the contractor, we were able to design a drainage solution to eliminate costly underground retention by use of stepped retaining walls and sloped concrete to redirect water coming from the hill behind way from the building.
